Shed Sponsored Teams
The Shed is proud to sponsor local teams that bring people together through competition, community, and a love of the game
Matrix, Sons of Shed & Kings
Shed “Matrix”, “Sons of Shed (SOS)” and “Kings”are 8-ball pool teams. They play out of the Sheds in Jingan and Hong Qiao and compete in the Thursday night Shanghai 8-ball Pool league. Players stem from numerous different countries with pool skills ranging from relative newbies to pool hall sharks. What they share is a love of pool whilst downing a pint or two. New players welcome. Anzacs F.C.
Shanghai Anzacs FC were formed in 2004 after two New Zealanders decided over a few drinks that Shanghai needed another football team. They’ve been part of the SIFL ever since and have called The Shed their spiritual home since 2017. The team trains weekly, tours overseas each year and is always happy to welcome new recruits — — both on the pitch and back at the bar afterwards.
GITF
GITF is an amateur football club established in Shanghai in 2020. Our two mixed-ability squads compete in the ASAS7 league, bringing together players from more nationalities than any other club in the city. We offer training, tournaments, friendlies, trips and plenty of social events. Whether you’re visiting Shanghai or live here, come play, get fit and join the family.
Bashers
The Bashers have been a cornerstone of Shanghai cricket since 2004—renowned for consistency, legendary collapses and occasionally leaning to horizontal extremes. Our inclusive culture welcomes players of every ability, with no danger of being outclassed by your teammates. We play regularly on Sundays and remain full of untapped potential for glory.
BRORUSSIA
BRORUSSIA Shanghai, founded 2019, by 7 German friends, is today a melting pot, 16 different nations in the squad and one of the oldest &Â well-known ASAS7. The spirit is to play competitive, attractive , ambitious football which led them to the ASAS Championship in 2023. Given the roots, the clubs name shows similarities to the common club prefix "BORUSSIA" which describes the former region of Prussia and was turned into BRO for brothers here abroad in Asia.
